一條褲製作在2017年及2019年先後舉辦了首兩屆紀錄劇場節，引起本地及各界不少關注。2021-2022年將會舉行第三屆，希望繼續推動本地紀錄劇場的發展。秉承以往紀錄劇場節多姿多彩的特色，本屆節目同樣包含考察、大師班、研討會、展演、原創劇目等，嘗試從不同角度入手，探索紀錄劇場這種獨特的戲劇形式。

戲劇與社會關係緊密，紀錄劇場更加是緊扣社會的戲劇類型。當社會發生戲劇性事件，以紀錄劇場回應是其中一種適切的方式。過去幾年，世界及香港社會歷經變化，不少香港觀眾與藝術家都希望以戲劇回應社會的情況。本團致力推廣的紀錄劇場因而漸為受落，不同題材及形式的紀錄劇場作品出現，讓本地及外地觀眾以劇場為媒介，了解香港；藝術家及觀眾通過了解別人的紀錄劇場，又可以窺探其他地區的社會狀況。

本屆紀錄劇場節將以「社會的戲劇」為題，繼續以紀錄劇場為媒介，切入本地社會的同時，亦聚焦其他華文地區，包括北京、上海、台灣、澳門、新加坡等紀錄劇場的發展，希望匯聚交流華文地區的經驗，探索紀錄劇場如何在華文地區落戶發展；還有放眼世界，探索香港觀眾較陌生的地區，例如希臘、捷克、西班牙等地的紀錄劇場發展。

Pants Theatre Production is honoured to have organized the first two Documentary Theatre Festivals back in 2017 and 2019 with the generous support of the Arts Capacity Development Funding Scheme (ACDFS), which have drawn major attention in Hong Kong. In 2021-2022, we are proud to present the 3rd Documentary Theatre Festival in order to continue our effort in developing documentary theatre in Hong Kong. Like the first two successful Festivals, this year’s Festival will continue to present an array of events, ranging from research trips, playreadings, masterclasses, seminars and performances, in order to explore this unique theatre approach via multiple perspectives.

Theatre has long established a close relationship with the society. Documentary theatre is even more intertwined with social issues, and often regarded as a powerful means in response to dramatic social events. Both the international world and Hong Kong have been experiencing drastic changes in recent years. Hong Kong artists and audience are looking for a way that theatre can be related to the society. Hong Kong artists and audiences are more and more welcoming documentary theatre, which we have advocated for years. Documentary theatre works of various subjects and styles have been seen in Hong Kong, through which local and foreign audience understand more about Hong Kong. On the other hand, through learning about the development of documentary theatre in other countries, we can have a glimpse the world outside Hong Kong.

With the theme of ”Theatre of Society”, we carry on striving to relate to our society via the lens of documentary theatre. Another focus this year is the development of documentary theatre in such neighbouring Chinese-speaking regions. Our research trip this year will also cover such international communities as Greece, Czech and Spain, which are less known to Hong Kong audience.
